CORE SCHOOL RULES
 
 

All students in NSW Governments school are expected to follow CORE RULES.

Including:

· Attend every school day, and be in class on time and prepared to learn

· Maintaining a neat appearance, including adhering to the requirements of the school’s uniform code

· Behave safely, considerately and responsibly, including when travelling to and from school

· Show respect at all times for teachers, school staff, visitors and helpers including speaking courteously and co-operating with instructions

· Care for property belonging to themselves, the school and others

These rules are underpinned by school community agreed SCHOOL VALUES.

They include:

Respect—regard for yourself, others, the law and justice within our community

Integrity—being consistently honest and trustworthy

Care—concern for others and acting with compassion

Fairness—being committed to the principles of social justice

Responsibility—being accountable for all actions

Excellence—striving for personal best and committing to life long learning

 

 
  BEHAVIOUR LEVEL SYSTEM   
 

Warning Level This level is intended to remind students of appropriate behaviour at an early stage. Will involve 1 day detention and a letter sent home advising parent/carers.

Yellow Level Applies to inappropriate behaviour including persistent classroom/playground disruptions and non compliance. Will involve 2 days detention and letter sent home.    Students will remain on this level for 1 week, and will be unable to receive ‘Happy Heights’ awards.

Orange Level Applies to more serious behaviour including violence, vandalism, harassment and persistent inappropriate behaviour. Some consequences may include a 3 day    detention, parent/carer interview, home/school  communication booklet, restricted play, unable to  participate in excursions or PSSA activities and will   remain on this level for 1 week. Unable to receive ‘Happy Heights’ awards.

Red Level Applies to even more serious behaviour including aggressive violent behaviour, stealing, victimisation and serious non compliance. Consequences may include     in-school or out-of-school suspension, School Counsellor/Behaviour support intervention, monitoring practices and home/school support practices. Unable to participate in any extra curricula planned school activities.
